Year 5 Jodrell Bank Trip

Year 5 enjoyed their trip to Jodrell Bank, which was linked to their current Science topic 'Earth and Space'. While there, they investigated the solar system, as well as how scientists study space. They also took part in two workshops. The first all about the solar system and how the planets differ with their composition, gravity and light. The second was definitely everyone's favourite - The Mars Rover Challenge. They had to design a 'craft' which would ensure their rover (an egg) would survive when dropped onto Mars (a tray). We had a success rate of 80%!

All the children had a great day, and it definitley helped with their understanding of the topic.
